The Snake
by Al Wilson
This morning I found a grass snake resting on our landing jetty as I went for a swim in the lake after a 5 km hike. Now it is so warm that I need a swim after the hike. The snake did not even move as I passed it at perhaps 2 m distance. It did sniff though with its tongue. Looking at the picture, I deduce that it was there digesting its catch - parts of it still visible in the form of its body in the middle and close to the tail.
