The ‘panic buying’ shortages are largely history, and we weren’t really affected too much. We managed to get hold of enough (but not too many) loo rolls, struggled for a while to get flour, and soap was for a while a bit of an issue. I even had to substitute my favourite beer once. It all seems to have got pretty much back to normal now but for some reason, there seems to be a new shortage of sugar. We hardly ever use the stuff but with a certain Blipper’s birthday next month preparations need to be made for a cake. As our normal supermarket was out of what we needed, we had a trip down to the local High Street which opened for business again this week. They have banned traffic to make it easier for people to ‘social distance’ and everything was really quite quiet. This cafe has yet to reopen and I hope they can find their C and L before they do.
