Frankenscanner

New macro lens arrived today so I got to try out version two of the Frankenscanner.
Here’s how it works: the slide is on the lightbox, and the image just about fills the entire frame (if I had a slightly more adjustable tripod it would be easier to get it to precisely fill the frame). Cable shutter release so that the camera is as still as possible. 100 ISO. Line the slide up in the eyepiece, take a photo. The results are at least as good as the scans we paid for. The lens will pay for itself several times over.
