The Hub
10.1C unexpectedly mild, but grey.
Apothecary7, Maeve the Deerhound and I had a walk before lunch. We went up to the church where we met a couple who had come to find the place where the gentleman's parents had been married in 1945. Apothecary7 took their picture (with their camera) outside the church. We were able to point them in the direction of the farm where his father had worked, just a mile or so along the small country road.
From the church we went along the country road the short distance to the field with the bridle path. We saw where the roadworks have closed the road for the last week. On the hill where the tree was blown down a while back.
The field wasn't too wet at the edge but there are lots of deep muddy ruts where the bales have been being loaded onto trailers. We took some pictures round about the trailers. I like their brightly painted wheels.
The tide was well out down at the beach. Several of the Fishermen's huts had smoke coming from their chimneys. Activity starting at the weekends. Creels were still being put together.
After lunch I watched the rugby on the telly. An exiting match where Italy played well and recorded a historic win over a very lacklustre French team.
