Ebony Jewelwing
The ebony jewelwing damselfly is extremely common around here at this time of year. Usually they're not all that easy to photograph because they are constantly in motion. Today it was so weirdly cool, and also wet, that this poor gal (it's a female - you can tell by the white dots on her wing - the male is even more jewel-like) was sitting on our porch floor just apparently unwilling or unable to move. I got down on my hands and knees and put my phone right up next to her and she never moved. She was gone when I went out later, so there's that. Unless a bird snapped her up, I guess she's okay.
