Another day that didn’t go to plan but we did get to Kendal and picked up the Sainsbury’s order. 37 items ordered, 31 available on the day. Except for fruit and veg I mark items as ‘do not substitute’ so there’s no worry about unsuitable alternatives. The essentials were there but not one of my treats.

After a bit of slow gardening in the morning (using scissors instead of the temperamental strimmer to tidy the lawn edges) I found a few flowers to photograph. Given to me about 15 years ago by a gardener friend they provide colour in my blue/purple patch when the aquilegia have finished flowering. 

There were a lot more people out today, both in Ambleside and Kendal.
