My mountain bike is back!

I gave my mountain bike to my neighbour's son to fix up. When he took it he was a trainee bike mechanic. Now - 18 MONTHS LATER - he is fully qualified, and the bike is good as new. A good job, but very very slow. The question is: how much do I pay him? He's too embarrassed to charge me.
