Nice bit of crumpet

A packet of crumpets going begging for 9p, i.e. 1.5 pence per crumpet. This scenario created a very satisfying lunch, especially when slathered with butter. Yellow-stickered bargains are my lifeblood. One of the relatively few lockdown highlights.

I used the technical term ‘ramjammed’ with the Head of HR, to describe workload. I’ve used it for years to portray the feeling of being very busy. I then made the mistake of checking the definition according to the Urban Dictionary. There are various unsavoury uses of the term. Perhaps it’s time to freshen up my vocab.
