Gooseberry harvest

It's a good year for the gooseberries; 8kg from the 2 bushes. A good winter mulch provided by the horses probably helped. Picking them reminds me of when the offspring were young children and they stuck a gooseberry thorn through one fruit that was destined for jam. I found it later, having pierced the roof of my mouth, leaving me wide mouthed and unable to close it.
