ALL hands to the pumps!
I'd never envisaged this. My tiny collection of carnivores stands a metaphorical ankle-deep in rain/pond water. Rain when the Butt has it, pond when it hasn't. Three days ago I evicted 1.3" = 34mm of wet from the gauge. I made no note of subsequent amounts, but today, as I dodged the drops to fetch the milk in I noticed it was raining again. Tipped out another 0.4" since yesterday. The ankle-deep on my plants was about shoulder height; with my two recent Pinguicula's compost under water-level an I indulged in a spot of bailing out.
