Start and finish

I April Blackpool Football Club will be the start and finish point for the Blackpool Marathon and Half Marathon.

The races will start outside the ground in a tunnel that will generate a great atmosphere.

It will finish in front of one of the stands inside the ground, where we hope there will be an even better atmosphere.

Today we have been measuring the route. But we have to lose 300 yards so one of the turning points will have to be altered. Easier said than done.

The route took us past the end of a road where a 16 year old girl was murdered on Thursday. She was a student at the plce where I work so no doubt there will be some very upset students this week. And still a media circus hanging round trying to get another angle on a story that has already been told.

Meanwhile on Top Gear they are showing a device you can put on your ear that wakes you up if you drop off to sleep while driving! If you thought that was barmy, the manufacturers say it's also ideal for airline pilots!!!
