Hare on Dere Street

We went for a walk along part of the route of Dere Street, an old Roman Road that used to run from York all the way past Edinburgh. This stretch is a few miles South of Dalkeith.
There were so many European hares (not Mountain hares, who have been in the news this week). I have never seen so many!
