Sawn Rocks Reward
Since the beginning of the year, I have been tracking my walks/runs on a virtual map to see how far I get. I started on the highway near our home and this week, reached Sawn Rocks on the Killarney Gap Road, 56 km away.
My chosen reward was a drive out to Sawn Rocks for some photos and a picnic. We enjoyed the walk to the rocks (nearly 2km round trip) and explored the river bed once there. It really is an amazing sight, even though I have seen it before. We estimated that the individual fallen rock columns are about 600mm across, much bigger than they look on the cliff face.
Then back to the picnic area for afternoon tea. Next stop (on my virtual walk/run), the Rocky Creek Glacial area.
