LD 89 Wood amongst the trees
We went for a walk this afternoon up to St Modan's Well in the Stronafian Forst which is owned by the local Cointraive & Glendaruel Community through their development trust. It is within five miles of my house and it was good to go a little further for exercise than we have since the start of the lockdown.
One of the ways up is through a forest and woodland which also features some wood carvings, of which this is my favourite and which is in a lovely position next to a stream with , behind my back as I took this, an open view down to the Glen. (Someone has a also been putting a few little YES and Saltire stones about the path as you can see.).
My two extra photos are of the Glen itself and the new sign by the main road for the forest and this walk.
You can continue round past a chambered cairn (with another good sculpture in which you can sit ) and the well and walk back to the Clachan via a new path and the old road. Today it was warm but breezy, the whole way which kept the midges away.
