Fallow Deer Buck
It was pouring with rain this morning so rather inevitably it was down to me to walk Jorgie!
I did wait until the heaviest rain stopped but everywhere was running with water as I came down the lane from the common.
Later the day improved and Carolyn and I set off on another beaver hunt via the Powderham Estate.
We enjoyed a walk beside a group of bucks but rain stopped play.
By the time we got to East Devon all the wet weather had disappeared and it was almost too warm as we walked along the river and down to the coast.
The level of the water was a good foot higher than on my previous visits and with a fast current it seemed unlikely that the beavers would venture out.
One other visitor claimed to have seen the adult male but sadly we didn't spot any.
