its game season and for the last couple of days there has been the sound of gun shot as it is pheasant/game season. Its not a sound that I am unfamiliar with as I have worked at a stately home Burton Agnes on and off over the years where we have had the gentery come for the shoot. But this was on the door step of the cottage in Rosedale and must admit was quite fascinating. Didnt see too many slain birds but the shooters withdrew to a near by farm to collect their gun dogs load themselves into a Land Rover. It gives you a view of the comings and goings here into the country way of life whether you agree with it or not is mater of personal view, however after having a week in some of their weather conditions and only a brief sneeky peak into their way of life, its not for the faint hearted know matter what you think your prepared for. So when a farmer says they have a foot of snow and vehicles are struggling they arent kidding , in fact they are the only humans on earth that dont blow up the truth, if anything they are understating. Its all good fun.
