Butterfly transects

Today looked like being the best day for walking my butterfly transects, although it turned out rather cloudy. The advantage of that was that most of the butterflies were sitting tight on various flowers and I could go close enough to photograph them.
Here we have the beautiful Dark Green Fritillary and the lovely Common Blue. I counted good numbers of them but there would have been so many more if the sun had shone!
A lovely walk anyway.
