Elementary!

We finally got to play the board game we bought at the Hay Festival.

It's called Elemensus. In a nutshell it is scrabble, but the tiles are all the elements of the periodic table. The reverse of the tiles are dark matter, made up elements, but are letters to make the game easier. You score points based on the molecular weight of the real element, dark matter has negative points. The game also has several starting squares rather than the one like scrabble.

It really is simple to play, and it makes it more of a challenge as with a lot of the elements having two letters, you have to make words from the middle out, rather than the lazy way most people play scrabble.

Dawn is thrashing me. 2835 plays 3295. It's good for improving your arithmetic too!

It's a fantastic concept of a game, and that's what drew it to me first.
