The Day of the Hug
As my mum, with being a single person, can now ‘join’ another household, she has joined ours! Hooray! After 13 weeks (amazing) of no physical contact, she got a big hug on arrival at the house on Saturday afternoon. Breagha howled in delight when she saw her and brought her favourite stone as a present to her!! I felt quite emotional, especially as at the start all sorts of scenarios go through your head. Given she is in a sheltered complex and her age (90) I wondered if she would get through it. But the warden there, Angela, is fabulous. They also do their social distancing but get together outdoors in the garden rather than their lounge.
Anyway, she had a tour of the garden as a whole season has passed by since last here and the tremendous amount of work we have done to transform from and back from the overgrown jungle to a garden in full bloom with raised beds growing tatties, lettuce, carrots, leeks, tomatoes, cucumbers and all the pots and bedding plants. Then indoors to see our newly decorated front room .
We had our usual banter and then the gang arrived so we sat out in the garden and the boys did some planks LOL!
Tea then she was bundled home at 730 as we had the 12th week of the quiz!
What a great day!!
