Father's Day
I'm not one for these 'special' days but I was told it was Father's Day coming up a few days ago and that Emma, Andy and Tom would be visiting. And so they did this morning, having sent presents and cards in advance....so who am I to complain?
We had a lovely chat in the garden, suitably distanced, no chance of a Father's Day hug, and a cup of tea whilst Luna had the run of the place. I've added a pic to the extras showing the goodies, beer from Tom, Marmite from Emma (very impressive as there seems to be a world shortage of Marmite at the moment)!
Looking back I found this picture of my Father and I taken in 1961, 59 years ago. I was 12 and he would have been 41. We often went to Scarborough for our holidays, always stayed at the same B&B, then did the shows and outdoor theatre at Peasholm Park. In those days professional photographers would walk along the front and pier looking for likely clients, we obviously succumbed . What amazes me is how dapper we both looked, not really what you expect of seaside holiday gear, though I was wearing sandals!
