Au revoir

We nipped down to Thursley this afternoon to see if Colin was around and, when we got to his field, he was already happily sitting on his perch in front of four photographers. He's so relaxed about us humans that he didn't mind us walking over to join in, and then he hung around for 40 minutes posing while we took photos. He had, apparently, been eating since 10 am and wasn't calling at all, so it seems he's eating as much as he can before he heads back home any day now. It was so nice to see him again for probably our last time this year and, quite possibly, ever as he's an old bird now. Fingers crossed that he will make it back next year, though. Until then it's au revoir, not goodbye, I hope.
