Wild rose.

What a great start to summer, it was pouring down when we got up, so we had a nice leisurely breakfast before heading out for our walk with the doggies.

The quarry gets more beautiful everyday with its diverse wild flowers, Wild Orchids popping up everywhere and an abundance of these gorgeous dog roses(Rosa Canina)
The Wild Rose Flower or Species Rose is a single rose which evolved about 70 million years ago (the far distant ancestor of the single rose of today - and all the others) and it was flourishing before the Dinosaurs perished. 
By the time we got home the sun had started to come out, allowing a bit of garden therapy, did some dead heading and some weeding. 

Then in to prepare Sunday dinner. ( Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding) .

In other news
Mr PC watched the football, unfortunately his team ‘Aston Villa’ got beat.

Lovely clear evening, promise of a nice few days.
