Watching Mum......

We think this juvenile is part of a second Woodpecker family, and you see him/her here looking longingly up at Mum who was on the feeder.  He did fly onto the feeder eventually but I thought he spent far too long being vulnerable on the ground.  

This isn't a sharp shot and I've taken the liberty of changing the background but even so I couldn't resist the  appeal of that wistful little face.
