Pharmacy, Fish & Chip Shop or Burton’s the Butcher

This morning Sushi and I had our first trip into Pocklington shopping since lockdown began, needing to get a few bits for this evening’s barbecue.

The first butcher was queuing around the square and up the street so we went to the second butcher where there were five of us politely waiting in line. I am not one for doing street photography but I have wanted to capture the way that our 2m queues are currently ‘the new normal’ whether it’s the supermarket, pharmacy, fish and chip shop or Burton’s the Butcher.

We had our friends K and C over for a carefully socially distanced barbecue in the garden this evening. It was so lovely to see them and to almost have that feeling of normality once again, even if they had to stay one side of the table and we had to stay the other. The Pimm’s went down well and the steaks were delicious, so well worth queuing for.
