The first of the trumpet cactus flowers

A couple of days ago I spotted this cactus was sending up flowering shoots. I'd put all the cabin's plants out in the rain last week but hey have now returned to the shelter and relative heat of the cabin and are loving it.

This collection of many small cacti plant from one species has just sent up five of these flowering shoots. Tonight I saw the first one had opened. I rushed in to the cabin as the sun was setting to record the event as I'm not sure how long the flowers will last. I think they may only open perfectly for one night.

I'll photograph the others as well in the next day or so but I wanted to blip this moment of their first appearance.
