Sedge Warbler in flight
A mild but cloudy and damp day today. Linda and I drove up to Ambleside to visit the garden centre. We returned using the Lyth Valley road as this let me show Linda the Barkbooth Lot NR which I had previously visited alone. Sadly the butterflies and dragonflies were not flying today in the dull and damp conditions but it was still a pleasant walk around the reserve. The only action we saw was this sedge warbler that was collecting food for its brood and flying at high speed very low to the water. It's not a great photograph as the background is so poor but it was quite a challenge to hold focus on it as it flew so close to the lilypads.
