Old shelter belt
I pass this line of trees most mornings on my walk. There was some talk of removing them when the Britten Reserve was first set up. However, they provide welcome shelter and shade for sheep that graze the paddock. The trees reveal their age and the battering they have receive by the strong winds that felled some of their neighbours in the past. Although not the most shapely of their kind, I admire these trees their fortitude and survivability.
