Strike One!

I got myself talked into driving over to Manchester tonight to play softball as part of a programme of LGBT History Month activities.

None of my team had ever really played softball before (North American viewers may find this hard to believe!) although we'd all played rounders (North American viewers may have to look this up...) so we, perhaps over-confidently, figured we'd get the hang of it fairly easily.

Well, after a 30 minute coaching session we were thrown into our first game. We lost. But not too embarrassingly. And we discovered that some of our opponents play regularly in a local league - so we reckoned we'd done pretty well for rank amateurs!

I may even go back next week!
