Attention to detail - Monday
I should have taken this in a better light because the colours are so much more vibrant than this blip suggests. Eventually it will become Monet's water lily pond. I believe the original painting (drawn form the pond at Girvenay) is the NY Met. It is probably easier to go to Frances and see the source for myself.
Today was a dreich one, although the rain was actually quite nice and I didn't mind getting wet on my short walk to pick up the paper. I should have gone out again later in the afternoon when it was dry but somehow that didn't happen.
Watched the third series The Sinner, not nearly so compelling as the first two, less complex and more of a hunt and chase. Disappointing. I also finished Elif Shafak's Three Daughters of Eve and found the ending ambiguous in an unhelpful way, and not really sure if I cared one way or the other. I regret not having visited the Botanic Gardens in Oxford, I had did not realise they were so close to Magdalene Bridge, I suppose in those days the idea of being interested in anything to do with plants and trees was antithetical to pleasure, and making good use of time.
