Man Overboard

If you look closely at the back of the adult you should be able to spot a humbug clawing its way back up. It small wings, which it was using to propel itself, looked pitiful. But it succeeded and then popped its head out from Dad's back.

Getting steadily warmer although a fresh breeze was blowing across the water. Daddy grebe (this shot) seems to do a lot of sitting on the  nest although he's also more agitated when ducks and people get too close, abandoning the two remaining eggs altogether to escape into the water. He does return though.

Must head down to Lidl to get some stuff for dinner tonight. Poor old Basil will have to stay in the car as Len has gone to tennis.
