Golden Plovers...

are mountain birds so walked up into the hills to a place where they usually nest. Was delighted to hear them then watch this wee chap. His mate is obviously sitting tight. First ones I’ve seen this year!
There were Stonechats, Willow Warblers and Wheatears too.
At the bottom the high fields were covered in Rockrose and Pansies.
