The long walk.
We set off early for our walk this morning and a change from our normal route. We hadn’t gone far when we came across our first poppies, we then passed the field where all the old Fair rides were stored - the guy has obviously moved on as it was empty except for a couple of horses.
We then crossed the first of two bridges and through the gate and carried on into the field. Looking over towards Flixton we saw a field of poppies in the distance. Lots of this (Hog weed) growing along the path with butterflies all around. In the next field was a load of cows drinking from the trough. We then crossed the River Herdborough and our second bridge. We left the path via a farm and headed back home via Staxton and the new cycle/footpath along the A 64, passing Spittal farm inn and couldn’t resist these colourful stalls.
Finally after walking 7 miles, we arrived home and had a welcome cup of tea.
In the afternoon Mr PC went out and cut the grass.
This evening we sat out on the deck and had dinner.
