Handsome fellow
Back to a more normal routine today I'm glad to say and we were able to book a time slot to visit a National Trust property albeit not one that was more local to us.
We went to Canons Ashby in Northamptonshire and had visited it before so knew what it was like. Of course the house and church were both closed but the formal garden and adjoining parkland were open.
We had taken a picnic to enjoy and that was nice even if we did receive a lunchtime visit from a ewe and her two almost adult lambs who didn't seem fazed by us and one took a liking to the soles of my deck shoes and gave them a good licking and nuzzling!
Afterwards as we did some more wandering around the grounds we came across this splendid cockerel and his two hens. Again he also took a liking to us although once he realized that we had nothing for him he strutted away calling out his cock a doodle doo for all to hear.
