Emerging

So nice to see some water lilies along the lake shore. The wall of reeds that in previous years obscured them from view has been cleared. Thus far only one flower has shown itself and I'm hopeful it will emerge into a beauty. We shall see.

Anyway, I like the shape of the lily pads with their curled edges and cast shadows and the negative spaces in between.

Despite the cloud, soft filtered light reflects off the surface of the pads making them glow a bit. A couple of leaves are back lit showing their veins. Quite a challenge to balance the light across the image.
