Municipal flowers
A new mattresses was being delivered today for Doreen between 10am and 1.00pm which determined how the day panned our.
Fortunately, it arrived at 10.15 while I was cutting the grass. That meant as soon as I had finished we could go into town for our first visit together since the very start of lockdown.
We really didn’t want to go. We needed to pay in a large cheque. It was hot and we weren’t looking forward to dodging the crowds in Mote Park or in town. In the end it turned out OK, with only the usual quota of numpties who show a complete lack of awareness.
Town was quiet with few queues and good one way systems. The municipal flowers have not been appreciated by many people these last few months and Mugglestons Inn has never been so quiet. I wonder what it’ll be like come next month?
It was an even hotter walk home, gone 2.00pm and ready for lunch when we finally arrived back.
The mattress was from a company called Emma and came highly recommend by Which? Ordered Saturday, here today. It came rolled up in a vacuum pack which expanded entertainingly to its full dimensions in a matter of seconds.
A little uke practice in preparation for tonight’s jam rounded off the afternoon. I’m singing House of the Rising Sun and Weather With You. Wish me luck.
