Lucilia sericata

Third insect photo in a row and today it's the turn of the green bottle, a type of blowfly. They are very useful in forensic pathology as the time of death of a corpse can be estimated from the absence or presence of blowflies and their stage of development. That aside, I think they're quite attractive with their metallic green body and big red eyes.
