Easedale Tarn
An exhausting trek up to Easedale Tarn from Grasmere and back. Only 8 km round trip but its rough underfoot and there was 300m of climb. A lovely 20 minute swim then sunbathing and picnic on the beach. Who needs to go to Spain? The water was quite warm enough at 18°C and it's not salty. The hottest day of the year so far, news footage of beaches and hot spots teeming with people. So pleased I can find places like this to swim. OK there were 4 other families swimming but the tarn was hardly crowded.
Day 96
154 deaths. Everywhere will be opening up after 4 July, hope the numbers don't start to rise. It does mean Mr P will start planning his Coast to Coast walk that he had to delay from 1 April. He needs B&Bs to be open. The 2m rule has been reduced to 1 metre as long as there are extra precautions which is a bit of a problem because people remember simple rules and will think its just 1 m now. Certainly the walkers we met on the path round Easedale today had no idea. There was 6 of them they split 3 on each side of a narrow path and expected me to walk through the middle. I was lucky if I had a foot distance, let alone a metre
Son R will be allowed out of Scotland soon and has booked to come and stay for 3 weeks. Goodness the food bill is going to go up.
