Too darn hot!
We cooled down with a visit to Brockadale Nature Reserve this morning
http://www.brockadale.org.uk/Home.html.
A walk through the shady woodland, and through the meadow along side the little river Went.
Butterflies everywhere, but not easy to capture with the camera.
See extra.
Ringlet, Green=veined white , and small tortoiseshell. Also a bee, and pyramidal orchid.
There didn't seem to be as many wild flowers about as before.
May be the wet early Spring, and then dry late spring.
We usually stop for a drink and lunch at the Shoulder of Mutton in Kirk Smeaton, but of course today they were closed.
However they were doing some renovations ready for opening next month.
So we had a picnic back at the car.
The collage includes a dog and owner cooling down in the river.
A view looking back at Kirk Smeaton Church.
Lovely garden sculptures.
Some of the fairy doors which the school children have made. I love finding these every time we go, and this time a lot more have been added. These are just a few.
It was 31C as we drove home. Gald to get back and cool down with our usual Magnum.
Then a BBQ for tea.
It has been a delightful day.
A little too hot for me, but must not grumble!
