Meanwhile...
A great Ladies Lunch Zoom meet today. I’m so glad I finally acted on a prompting to phone a friend who had moved away and with whom we’d lost contact. She was really happy to join us today.
We booked a test drive of a car we’d seen ten days ago. We’re very happy with it! We think we can manage to proceed but a few sums to do first, and other car stuff.
We heard on our way to the test drive, that the mother of a friend of Joff had had the call from the hospital where her husband has been receiving care. The call no-one wants to receive.
Soon after we got home we learnt that Richard had died. His son wrote “ Dad has risen to eternal life with Jesus. Our sadness is great but so is our faith in God, even when we don’t understand.” Richard had been receiving so many new treatments over three years for a brain tumour. At the beginning of this week he developed scepsis. Today he died from the effects of pneumonia.
Tonight, we hold his family close, his wife, sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
How beautiful these sweet peas are!
PS “Faith is a risk, a challenge of trust.”
