Noises from the SW Front

A High School Graduate

Wee G. is at his High School graduation tonight and we’re at his house, watching a live stream of the ceremony on YouTube. He actually received his diploma two or three weeks ago and, for a while, there was talk that there would be no ceremony. To the school’s credit, they put an event together. Only the kids could attend; sitting six feet apart on the football field. After a few speeches, they were called up one by one to walk across stage and stop for a photo. No handshakes, no cheering from the family members in a packed house of family and friends, but still something to commemorate the accomplishment. Traditional ceremony or not; we’re proud of him just the same.
