Back in the air

D took his boat around to the foot of Eaval today and we surveyed a couple of sites that we knew about. Look carefully and you should be able to see us sheltering by the ruin as a  squall came through.
Immaculately built but it looks as if it had never been finished. There are a series of these buildings scattered around North Uist and we are begining to think that they were all built by the estate as stores and/or shops related to the kelp trade in the early 19th century.  I have used an image of another one already on twenty-eighth of January of this year.
The other building we went to was what we are increasingly convinced is a Norse building.although there is not a huge amount to see.
