Wharram Quarry

Out for a run this morning. I was very glad to be in the cool shade of trees for most of the run. Really enjoyed a cool bath to lower the temperature afterwards. Two young squirrels joined me on the path for part of the run finally seeking refuge in the trees.

Spent some time sorting out photos and setting up a new external drive. Always time consuming and frustrating in equal measure!

This afternoon we had a ride to Wharram Quarry on the Yorkshire Wolds. It is a Yorkshire Wildlife Trust site noted for its butterflies in particular Marbled White and Common Blues. No Marbled Whites but did get a few photos of the Common Blue. It was quite breezy and a lot did not want to land.

Couldn’t decide which I liked best this single shot of the open wings or the male and female in the extra.
