Watching for the storm

Unbeknownst to the forecasters, a thunderstorm was bearing down on Loudoun County this afternoon. The kids went outside (logically) when the sky bruised over and waited for the lightening bolts. Considerately, the storm cleared the air in time for an evening walk up the hill. 

None of us left home today, apart from the walk. I made an experimental batch of elderflower syrup, which is now steeping overnight, and a too-complex dinner. Feeling somewhat out of sorts and disconnected...will take myself off to finish a mystery and catch up tomorrow. Hope the week wraps up well!
