Brasenose Wood

For my Friday walk this week I picked another of the local places on the Ordnance Survey Greenspace map - I've not been to Brasenose Wood for many years.  It is a mix of ancient woodland (think old Royal Forest) and lots of interconnected paths.  

There must be an explanation for the many paths, and the fact that lots are named (with very systematic names too - First Avenue.... Nineth Avenue etc).
