I painted the picture shown a while ago, and it is lovingly referred to by me by its working title of "The wreck of the Hairpiece"which is a reference to a line "The Wreck of the Hesperus" from "Lydia the tattooed lady" by Groucho Marx, which in turn is a reference to the poem of that name by Longfellow - who was inspired by the great blizzard of 1839
