Towards Higgar Tor
I should like to thank everyone for the generous comments I received for yesterday's blip "Owler Bar" and you managed to lift it into the spotlight. My head still feels like it belongs to someone else (poor ****er), but I am making excellent progress and I'm hoping to be able to continue normally with life sometime this week. It has all been a bit of a shock.
Once again, Mrs. Bob20 has had to drive me ino Sheffield and back, so it is a car wondow shot again. This time Higgar Tor, in the Dark Peak Derbyshire.
Good old Wikipedia has helped me out with the couple of lines below:
Higger Tor is a dominant landmark of the Dark Peak, in the north of the Peak District National Park. It is a gritstone tor overlooking the Burbage Valley and the iron age hill fort of Carl Wark [1] to the southeast.
The tor stands to the south west of Sheffield, just within the city boundary, about 200 metres (220 yd) east of the border with Derbyshire, which runs along the nearby road to Ringinglow. The village of Hathersage is approximately 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the west.
Thanks again everyone, have a good evening. Sorry it's a tree again!!
