Day 96 Evening light
Another very hot day, made clammy by the rain falling in the early hours of the morning. I forced myself to do some indoor cleaning chores this morning and after lunch settled for sitting in the garden. This is promised to be the last fine day for a while so I'm making the most of it.I didn't buy new flowers this week as the lisianthus from last week are still looking good. This week's new bloomers in the garden are out two hydrangeas, a mop head and this lace cap, on which I thought the light was prettiest. Neither of them have done very well and it has taken quite few years for each of them to reach a very modest height.
In other news: there is no particular news as the daily briefings have finished here in the UK. Vast number of visitors to beaches and even our local beauty spots continue to gather and behave badly, leaving great quantitlies of litter - and worse - behind.
Air bridges are being proposed and negotiated with a number of EU countries and possibly other low risk countries but nothing seems certain. We had planned a trip to Italy in early September with daughter #1 and her partner but we have decided that we'd prefer not to travel abroad until next year. We haven't booked flights for this trip and we know the hotel owners well, so will ask that they keep our deposits for a visit hopefully next year. Our planned 2020 holidays in India and Sri Lanka definitely won't be happening of course.
