Bara Brith

Well what a difference in the weather today. At least 5 degrees cooler and very windy.

On a positive note I was back in the kitchen today baking a traditional Welsh Loaf from the National Trust Tea Time Baking Book. Not sure this is the traditional version given the amount of red wine used to soak the dried fruit overnight. The Blip is the finished article. Im sorry I can't share the smell or taste.

Its the weekend so my first extra is of the Shard looking east along Southwark Street. The building on the left is the old Hop Exchange which was opened in 1867 for the trading of Hops for the Brewing Industry.

We start our 16th week of restrictions today. A time for reflection and a check on what is going on around us.

Boris is now on about an Air Bridge. Given his success with the London Garden Bridge and the Ireland Bridge I have my doubts about his latest one.Possibly A Bridge too Far.

2nd extra was taken on our walk last night. A scene outside a local pub on Weston Street near London Bridge. People everywhere.

The final extra is the marketing poster for the Crossbones Cemetery.

I have been keeping tabs on the number of new virus cases in our Borough of Southwark. This comes from have done data analysis during my working life. Last night the data revealed 10 new cases which was worrying given the numbers had gone down to 1 a day. Today I checked the numbers and the number of cases had gone down by 4. Oh dear what is the correct number. Cannot believe we fail to record these numbers accurately.

Remain safe and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
