Our tomato plants are bearing fruit. We haven’t grown tomatoes for years because usually we travel so much and they need a lot of water so this year was an ideal time. When we lived in Suffolk we could grow then out of doors but obviously in Northumberland they have to be in the conservatory.

Sleeping with the eye shade on is really working - I haven’t heard if the one I gave Val is helping her.

I’ve had a lazy day, doing the codeword, reading the paper and knitting while listening to podcasts. I don’t feel guilty for a change, as there’s such wild squally showers going on outside.

We’ll be having a FaceTime drink with Chloe and Graham in London at 6pm
