Cook Of The House

The weather is wet here today so it looks like another night watching Glastonbury on the box. For Sunday dinner this evening we will christen our new oven, so my blip today is for posterity reasons as this oven will never be as clean and shiny again.

My album of the day is "Heartbreaker Please" the new release from Teddy Thompson. A break-up record with a bunch of mostly three-minute lovesick pop songs. The opening lyric " Here's a thing you don't love me anymore, I can tell you've got one foot out the door", is the theme running through the album. Still a happy record despite the pain in the lyrics, well crafted catchy pop songs, just the job when you've been dumped, I think it's class but I'm a fan.
